We meet at the airport at 6:30 am and leave on an Air Malta flight to Munich at 8:45 am. On our arrival we will go on the coach and start our adventure at the Olympic Complex and the BMW museum (entrance extra). We will then head to the center of Munich visiting Karlsplatz and Karlstor, the main street in the old part, Neuhauserstrasse, which is full of beautiful buildings and great shops of all kinds. We see the Marienplatz decorated with the new Gothic-style Town hall with the picturesque clock and the old Townhall which we pass under to continue along the Tal (valley) until we reach the bridge of the river Isar. There are many beautiful places to see, all within a few minutes, including Hofbrauhaus, Ludwigstrasse, Theatiner churches, Frauenkirche, Assam the post office, located in an elegant Italian-style palace, the king’s palace and the theater. We leave by coach to Berchtesgaden and rest.
Today we will go to Lake Hintersee which is surrounded by exceptional scenery. We will canoe on the lake, paddling between forested paths and mountain peaks. In the afternoon we will catch a special coach which will take us to Hirschbichl, high between the mountains and with beautiful views. One can hike back (3 hours) or stay there as long as he likes and take the coach back. In the evening we will go to Watzmann Terme in Berchtesgaden which is a state-of-the-art swimming pool, equipped with many facilities, such as water slides and Jacuzzis.
Our adventure today starts with Enzian Brennerai, a beer distillery. Following are the salt mines, a joyful train ride experience in the underground. They will dress us with the same clothing of the miners and we would need to slide our entrance. Afterwards we visit the Wimbachklamm Gorge which is located at the entrance of a massive high valley at the foot of the geologically impressive Watzmann Mountain. In the evening we visit the center of Berchtesgaden, where we enjoy this rustic and tourist environment at the same time. Berchtesgaden, which until about one hundred and fifty years ago was an Austrian city, has memories of kings and nobles filling the palaces, when they came to hunt in its forests.
After breakfast we go to the Königsee, a fjordlike lake in the Bavarian Nature Park. This is the cleanest lake in Germany. By ferry we pass through the mountains and go to the San Bartholomä peninsula. In the middle of the lake we will stop to hear the playing of the crown. On our arrival we will walk in the forest and the lake’s borders, and have free time in an environment of great natural beauty. When we get back after diner we spend some free time in the center of Berchtesgaden.
We leave Berchtesgaden to go to Salzburg in Austria. Salzburg is a city with a river flowing through it, the river Salzach, and also the city where the famous composer Mozart was born. We see the cathedral and we can visit the medieval castle Hohensalzburg. We also visit the gardens of the Mirabelle Palace. There are small shops and narrow streets, bridges with river views and Italian Renaissance-style palaces. We than continue to Bratislava, which is the capital city of the Slovak Republic. We arrive just in time for dinner.

It is also rich in architecture, particularly the majestic buildings and Baroque gardens. We will visit the 19th Century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks. At noon we go to see the Anker Clock playing. In the afternoon we visit the Schönbrunn Zoo at the Schönbrunn Palace and Park which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vienna. There are many attractions beside the zoo which you can visit (at an extra charge); the palace; the staterooms, the transportation museum, the children’s museum, a maze where a first-time competition takes place, giant fountains and various other beautiful things. Back to Bratislava for our last dinner together.
This morning we tour Bratislava and see the castle that dominates this city. We climb the 47 meter high tower where we see a wonderful view of the city and the neighboring countries. The old town is quite small; we walk down to the Gothic Cathedral of St. Martin of the 15th Century and see Michael’s Gate, the only preserved medieval gate, and the most beautiful Kapitulska street that gives the illusion that we have gone back in time to the old . At 2:30 pm we will leave for the airport where we will arrive in Malta with a Ryanair flight at 8:00pm.
